Javian Duncan has spent 30+ years at the piano — from gospel choirs and the concert stage to studying jazz under Arlington Jones and decades of teaching. Today he teaches piano and music theory to students of every age and stage.

Do I need a piano or keyboard to start?
Yes — regular access to an acoustic piano or a full-size keyboard at home so you can practice between lessons. New to buying one? I'm glad to point you toward solid, affordable options.
Do you teach total beginners and children?
Absolutely. Lessons are for all ages and levels, and true beginners are welcome. For younger students the approach is patient and playful — real songs and small wins early.
Are lessons online or in person?
Both. You can study live online by video call from anywhere, or in person in the Grand Prairie / Dallas area — same focused attention either way.
What styles do you teach?
Foundational technique, music theory and reading, popular songs, worship and church songs, and playing by ear — all tailored to your goals.
How does payment work?
You pay securely when you book. Pick a session and a time, pay at checkout, and your meeting link is created automatically and emailed to you. The 15-minute intro call is free.
What if I need to reschedule?
No problem — just use the link in your confirmation email to reschedule, and give as much notice as you reasonably can so the time can open up for someone else.
